Problem to solve

This client was in the process of licensing software to use with HCPs and patients, but had had dismal results in their first pilot study. They needed to get a go/no-go to execute a licensing agreement and have a clear use case for piloting the application successfully.

Research strategy
Pulling out the insights

After 3 weeks of collecting data, we pulled out the insights and created archetypes and redesign recommendations based on the usability studies, heuristic evaluation, and user desires and pain points.

First

We used the insights from the heuristics and usability tests to create personas of our 3 patient archetypes.

Then

We used the archetypes to weigh in on each use case to understand desirability from the consumer’s POV.

Finally

We narrowed options to the 3 best

  1. desirable for consumers
  2. feasible technically
  3. viable for the business.
Designing the pilots

We provided our business partners with guidelines and best practices for how to design a successful pilot that would result in useful data.

The Results

Once we’d narrowed the focus to 2-3 use cases that were most likely to succeed, we provided specific recommendations about how to create viable pilots for each.
